I made a promise to myself that I would endeavour to complete my series of Harris paintings and I have worked further on some existing works in progress.... but I could not resist getting out a new canvas (I have a thing for large canvases) and beginning a new painting of a beach on the Isle of Harris, Outer Hebrides near to the cottage where we stayed. Harris is a beautiful place with outstanding beaches and I would love to visit again. Inicidentally, I had one of the nicest gluten free cakes - chocolate roulade, in one of the cafe's near to where we were staying (Hebridean Art Cafe I think it was called). Anyway, it was a delight to be able to have a gluten free treat whilst out and about.
I thoroughly enjoyed creating this painting and was immediately transported back to that lovely place. I had lots of fun with the palette knife and the brush with this one. Lots of texture was also added with acrylic mediums. Hope you like it. I will add more as I finish them.....
Anyway, here it is (40"x30") Acrylic on canvas (deep edge).
